Finding Peace: Why Embracing the Present Moment Is the Key
Embracing the present moment leads to more peace.
I went to a women’s gathering at my church tonight. It’s our Thanksgiving gathering for women. The speaker spoke briefly about being in the present moment. That is a concept that my therapist talks about frequently. The book she lent me mentions it (linked below). It’s something that I am embracing, but it’s not easy. Our minds wander. We all have monkey minds. The key to embracing the present moment is constantly bringing our minds back.
Centering prayer, which I have written much about for The Possible Path, helps me learn how to bring my mind back. I describe how to practice centering prayer in the video. If you want to know more about it, there are links below. If you have any questions about the practice, please feel free to email me (see below).
How do you practice staying in the moment? Check out my Substack Chat and let us know.
I will do a live event on Tuesday, December 5 at 4 pm PST (6 pm CST & 7 pm EST) on Substack Chat. If you don’t have the Substack app, please, add it so you can participate. We will discuss how to cope with the holidays when you have mental health struggles. Come with advice and suggestions for this community. Let’s help each other.
I would also like to host a video chat for this community some time in December. Comment below if you are interested.
